2018 King Faisal International Prize
Professor Sir John Ball FRS (University of Oxford) past-President (1996-1998) of the London Mathematical Society has received the 2018 King Faisal International Prize (Science). The Society extends its congratulations to Sir John on receiving this award. The Prize is awarded by the King Faisal Foundation and the Science subcategories cover a range of disciplines, alternating between physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics, with the Prize for Science first awarded in 1984.

The Royal Society has today published its recommendations for a radical reform of maths education from early years and throughout compulsory education, to address the growing need for data skills in the workplace and in everyday life.
Brady Haran wins the 2024 Christopher Zeeman Medal
The Councils of the IMA and the London Mathematical Society are delighted to announce that the 2024 Christopher Zeeman Medal is awarded to Brady Haran. The Christopher Zeeman Medal is the UK award dedicated to recognising excellence in the communication of mathematics.
An event to present Brady with his award is currently being arranged and details will be published on the societies websites, magazines and social media.
