Each year (usually in May/June), the аĿª½±Education Committee runs two workshops on mathematics communication and outreach, which are led by experienced mathematics communicators. These are interactive training sessions, covering the skills and techniques required to communicate maths effectively. The organisers also share their expertise in delivering interactive and engaging sessions in an online format.
There are usually two workshops, one at a beginners level and the other at an advanced level. The beginners session focuses on what is needed to get started in communicating maths to different audiences, and the advanced session looks at how to build on and improve your existing skills.
The workshops are held at De Morgan House with the option to join online if participants are unable to travel. However, in-person attendance is recommended to get the most out of the event.
The workshops are open to anyone who participates in, or wants to participate in, public engagement and communication activities in maths. You’ll have the chance to hear and share advice, discuss the principles behind good engagement, and develop and deliver your own interactive online demonstration.
Details of upcoming workshops will be posted to the аĿª½±homepage.
