The second will take place on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 July, 2022, in solidarity with Azat Miftakhov, a mathematics graduate student from the Moscow State University who has been arbitrarily detained by Russian state authorities since February 2019.
The first day will focus on the new generation of Russian mathematicians committed to human rights. The speakers are Ilya Dumanski (MIT), (Harvard) and (IHES). Their mathematical lectures will be broadcast live on Zoom and YouTube. On the second day, co-organised with the , a panel session will be held to assess the human rights situation in Russia through the cases of persecuted academics. The panel will be hybrid, online and in person at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, and will be open to academics, human rights organisations and journalists.
